AXE THROWING FAQ
Can I be intoxicated while throwing axes?
No. For the safety of yourself and others, any person who is intoxicated or showing signs of intoxication will not be permitted to throw axes. Axe throwing is at the discretion of the axe coaches.
Do axe coaches accept tips?
Absolutely! Your axe coach is in place to make your experience in the axe lanes as great as it can be - from training to gameplay to ordering beverages at the lanes! If you had a great time with your axe coach, feel free to let them know!
Can I drink alcohol while I throw axes?
Yes, however you cannot be intoxicated or show signs of intoxication while throwing axes.
Are you a bar where we can just come have drinks?
Yes! The axe lanes are located in The R.E.C. Room of Downtown Sporting Club where you can grab a drink, a bite, watch the game, and hang with friends and strangers alike!
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, everyone must sign a waiver in order to be permitted into the axe area.

How much does it cost to go axe throwing?
Axe throwing costs $20 per player per hour of gameplay.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
You may cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance. If cancelled later than 24 hours, we are happy to provide you with a credit to join us at another time.
What are the minimum and maximum group sizes?
A private lane can be rented for one player, and one bay can accommodate up to eight players. Private events in the axe lanes can accommodate up to 60 people.
Do you offer walk-ins?
Of course! If the lanes are available, we’d love to have you join us!
How early should I arrive for my reservation?
We ask that you please arrive at least fifteen minutes before your reservation time to fill out waivers and check in with the host stand.
Can we get a range to ourselves?
Four tickets translates to one lane to yourself. To be the only guests in a lane, please book the private lane or bay experience.
What do I need to wear?
We only have a few requirements. High heels are not permitted and closed-toed shoes are required. Shirts that permit a wide range of motion are recommended.
Is it safe?
It is! We have axe coaches in place to cultivate your experience from training to gameplay.
Do I need to have any experience?
You don't! Our axe coaches are trained to show you the ropes. They'll make an axe coach out of you yet!
Can I order food and/or beverages?
Both are available to order, but we would discourage you from ordering food as it may impact your time and experience while throwing axes.
What if we’re late?
Just like a movie, axe throwing begins at its scheduled time. If you are late, it could affect your throw time, resulting in a shorter axe throwing experience. If we have the availability, we will extend your time to fulfill your reservation but that may not always be possible.
Can we bring our own food / drink?
No outside food and drink will be admitted into the axe lanes.
Can we bring cakes for a celebration?
Celebrations are welcome at Downtown Sporting Club but cake service isn't the best fit in the axe lanes. Please join us in Carter Assembly, The Ribbon Room, or The R.E.C. Room for all of your cake-related celebrations!
Are you handicapped accessible? Can I throw if i’m in a wheelchair?
We are and, yes, absolutely!
Can I bring my bring my own axe?
Unfortunately not! We like our axes and hope you do, also.
Do you offer parking?
We do not but there are plenty of parking lots and parking garages surrounding Downtown Sporting Club. Rideshare companies such as Lyft and Uber are also a great call!
How old do you have to be to throw axes?
Our axe lanes are 18 and up.
Can I book an event outside your normal hours?
Absolutely! Please inquire abut reservations at firstname.lastname@example.org!
